On Friday, January 31, more than 50 Westerville students from throughout the school district in kindergarten through grade 5, each with an adult participant, participated in the first-ever Westerville Schools Elementary Basketball Shoot-Out in the McVay Elementary gymnasium. Varying points were awarded for specific pre-determined shots. A ball handling competition was also held in the school’s first floor hallway. The Westerville Rebels, a third grade basketball team, sponsored the competition, with all proceeds benefitting the McVay PTA.
