Westerville City Schools administrators Mark Hershiser, Assistant Superintendent; Dr. John Kellogg, Superintendent; and Curt Jackowski, Executive Director of Human Resources, joined in the collection effort for WARM.
Dozens of community members battled the elements on Saturday morning, December 14, to help the Rotary Club of Westerville fill the cupboards of hungry families. The club held its ninth annual door-to-door holiday food drive to benefit the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM). On December 7, volunteers delivered empty Kroger grocery bags to the doorsteps of about 10,000 homes in city neighborhoods. Residents were asked to fill them with food and household items, which were collected from front porches on December 14.
WARM assists individuals in the Westerville area who are living at 200% or below the federal poverty guidelines. In addition to providing food and limited financial assistance to families in need, WARM offers a number of programs such as a jobs assistance program designed to assist individuals on the road to economic recovery (WORK Initiative).
