Volunteers in the Westerville City School District play an important and much appreciated role in the educational process for both students and staff.  While their true value and impact cannot be measured, Westerville Parent Council (WPC) representatives shared some thought-provoking numbers with the Board of Education at the Regular Session held on Monday, December 9.

WPC President Chris Dilley and Treasurer Robin Pryfogle reported on volunteer hours logged by 30 participating PTA’s, PTO’s and Booster groups.  For the 2012-2013 school year, they said volunteers provided services valued at more than $1.2 million in human capital, or approximately 62.2 FTE (full time equivalents).  In addition, these groups provided monetary donations of $506,000 for enrichment programs, supplies and services, as well as student scholarships totaling $45,000.
