Board Honors Genoa Student for Winning the 2013 Central Ohio Invention Convention

The Westerville City Schools Board of Education, at its September 9 Regular Meeting, honored Genoa Middle School student Lara Detrick for having won the 2013 Central Ohio Invention Convention.  Detrick received a $2,500 college scholarship for her creation, called the Sticky Stand, which is a devise that helps gardeners keep their plants healthy.  She competed against 316 other students at the May 18 contest, which was held at Columbus State Community College.
