Westerville Schools Provides Pipeline to On-Line Summer Learning Opportunities

Even though school is out for summer, students can still be extending, enriching and enhancing what they know, as well as working on learning new skills.  The concept of WoWWithOutWalls is learning that can happen anytime and anywhere.

The Elementary Technology Integration Specialists team at Westerville City Schools has put together a collection of websites for parents and students to use over the summer and beyond.  This collection is presented as a Symbaloo, which is a graphical organizer for websites, or basically a collection of pictures on colored tiles that can be clicked on to visit the learning website.  The collection covers all content areas and styles of learning, as well as ways to show creativity and learn, regardless of content.  Keyboarding can be practiced there as well.

To access the SummerWoW collection:

Please go to the Parent Portal on the Westerville City Schools website, www.wcsoh.org to access the link, or visit it directly at http://www.symbaloo.com/mix/westervillesummerwow .  Depending on the browser you use, you will click on “Start Using This Webmix” or “Add this Webmix.”  Click on any of the tiles to be directed to suggested websites.  Most of the websites offer free resources, even though you might need to create a free account.
