Westerville Education Association Celebrates Teachers at Spring Reception

On May 1, the Westerville Education Association (WEA) hosted its Annual Reception at Villa Milano.  WEA President Rhonda Gilpin presided over the event, during which time a number of awards were presented. 

Retiring Superintendent Dr. Dan Good said Westerville City Schools has delivered, in each of the past six years, more added value, higher performance indices, and ultimately, the State’s top rating three times in a row.  “I attribute that success to each of you, and I humbly state that it has been a true honor for me to work here.” 

Friends of Education awards went to volunteer Sara Mercer-Sells, the Westerville Lions Club, and attorney Gene Hollins. 

Retiring educators were also honored:  John Birkhimer, Sally Brode, Rebecca Brulport, Sue Bunting, Mark Buxton, Samantha Canfield, Linda Cramer, Tom Cullinan, Linda Cullison, Maria Ferguson, Mary Ann Fleisher, Bob Fresch, Michele Fuchs, Marty Harmon, Nancy Haynam, Constance S. Himes, Brenda C. Jackson, Ellen Jacobs, Jan Johnson-Davis, Lorie Kramer, Phillip Louden, Cindy Martin, Ruth Ann McDermott, Amy Nelson, Cheryl D. Ortlieb, Alicia I. Robinson, Kitti Slusarz and Joan Wisler.
