Concert and Reception will Honor Retiring Music Educator Phil Louden

A concert and reception will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, in the Genoa Middle School Commons to recognize Phil Louden for his 32 years of service to music education and his upcoming retirement.  The 40-minute concert and program, which is open to the public, will feature some of Louden’s favorite music performed by friends, band directors, former student teachers, former students, current students and parents.

Music for the concert will include American Folk Rhapsody by Claire Grundman; Them Basses by Getty Huffine; and A Song of Hope, commissioned for Louden and the Heritage Middle School Band in 2002 by James Swearingen. A reception will immediately follow the program.  Genoa is located at 5948 S. Old 3C Highway in Westerville.
