Westerville City School District Superintendent Dr. Dan Good today announced several upcoming changes to the district’s leadership team at both the school and district levels:

  • Coordinator of ESL/Gifted & Talented Services Suzanne Palmer is joining the Worthington City Schools on August 1, 2013, as Gifted Education Coordinator.
  • Westerville South High School Athletic Director Scott Dorne also is joining the Worthington City Schools next year to become the Athletic Director at Thomas Worthington High School.
  • Westerville South High School Assistant Principal Andy Jados will be joining the South-Western City School District next year to become the Principal of Franklin Heights High School.
  • Chief Academic Officer Karen McClellan has announced that she will be retiring effective July 1, 2013, after spending the last 23 years of her career in the Westerville City School District.

“Sharing this type of news is always bittersweet for me,” Good said. “I’m happy for the individuals who are able to transition into other jobs because it speaks to the caliber of employee they’ve become. I’m also pleased that the individuals who have dedicated themselves to the noble profession of education are able to pursue other interests. At the same time, however, we’re losing quality employees and a significant amount of institutional knowledge from our leadership team.”

Good said that the district will work to attract qualified candidates and fill the vacancies over the coming weeks in order to be staffed appropriately for the start of the 2013-14 school year.
