Westerville City School District staff, students and community members are invited to gather in the Westerville Central High School auditorium on April 3 for an evening of conversation and dialogue around future and transformative trends in education.  The free event will take place from 4:00-6:30 p.m.  Westerville Central is located at 7118 Mt. Royal Avenue.

Presenters include Dr. J. Daniel Good, Superintendent of Westerville Schools; Dr. Nancy Nestor-Baker, community member and former Board of Education member; Dr. Phillip Schlechty, author of numerous periodicals and books including Shaking Up the Schoolhouse; Guerdie Glass, Huber Ridge Elementary School Special Education teacher; Victoria Cook, Language Arts and Science teacher at Blendon Middle School; Kylie Chonko, Science teacher at Blendon Middle School, Kenny Lee, Curriculum Coordinator and Facilitator for Innovative Learning Systems; and students from Westerville Central, North and South.

Dr. Good is encouraging participants to keep an open mind, embrace change, and work together.  “We're far stronger via civil, collaborative solution-seeking that we could ever hope to be independently,” he said.  “I believe our professional learning community can only grow stronger by practicing, refining and modeling the fine art of productive dialogue.  Start your Mind Glow and dream about the potential of public education to relevantly prepare our learners to contribute to the competitive and changing world in which they live – our Mission.  Don’t even entertain a box within which to think.  Be transformative!  Be revolutionary!  Be original!”
