(March 14, 2013) The Westerville City School District Elementary Attendance Boundary Realignment Committee (EABRC) met yesterday as it continued its progress toward refining boundary options into a final recommendation for Board of Education consideration.
The EABRC on Monday presented Board members with an overview of its work to date. Jeff LeRose, who is the district’s Executive Director of Business Operations and serving as EABRC Co-Chair, noted during the presentation that community feedback helped committee members shape prior boundary options into Option D3. He further stated that the committee would continue to use community feedback as it refined Option D3 into a final recommendation. The result of the committee’s work yesterday is Option D-3R.
“The ‘R’ simply stands for ‘Revised,’” LeRose explained. “The committee had some very productive meetings over the last two weeks and is prepared to recommend the Board’s approval of this option.”
Board members will meet in Special Session at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013, in the Westerville South High School Commons to hold a first reading on Option D-3R. Approval of the realignment plan would not occur until the Board holds a second reading on the proposal, which would not occur until early April. Westerville City Schools is on spring break from March 25 through March 29 and the Board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for April 8, 2013.
Option D3 and previous boundary options are available for review through the Elementary Attendance Boundary Realignment link at www.wcsoh.org. The EABRC also continues to accept community feedback through the site.
