Community members filled the lanes at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace on Saturday, February 23, to raise money for the Westerville Chamber Foundation, the Westerville Education Foundation, and the Westerville Symphony.

The 13th annual Westerville Community Bowl-a-thon also featured a silent auction, a bake sale, and an Executive Challenge, where representatives from local businesses and organizations competed for the coveted Golden Bowling Pin trophy.  The prize was won this year by John Petrucci, Vice President, Sales at State Auto Insurance Companies.  He bowled a 203.

New to the event this year was a Principal’s Challenge.  The three Westerville high school leaders – Todd Spinner (Central), Kurt Yancey (North) and Steve Andersson (South) competed against each other.  Andersson was the high scorer with a 167, but Yancey got bragging rights because bowling scores were added to the amount of money raised at each school.  Yancey’s score of 85 earned top billing when the $506 donated from Westerville North was added to his total.
