Look for a big, yellow school bus in the Westerville Children’s Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 2. Employees from the Westerville City School District's Transportation Department are donating their personal time and money to ensure they have a spot in the parade to wave to the students they deliver to and from school each day. They are also donating candy to be distributed and will cover the cost of fuel with personal financial donations.

"I can't say enough about what our drivers and other Transportation staff are doing to make sure our schools are represented in this community tradition," said Superintendent Dr. Dan Good. "In the past, we'd never have to think twice about our participation or the minimal use of district resources for such an event, but times are different. I truly appreciate our Transportation Department's generosity to maintain their presence in this parade."

Westerville Sertoma will host the Children’s Christmas Parade, which will begin at Brooksedge Drive and go along State Street to St. Paul Catholic Church. Leading the parade at 1:15 will be participants in the Columbus Running Company’s 5K, most of whom will be wearing Santa Hats. To learn more about the run, please visit www.columbusrunning.com.
