The Westerville Community Family Fun Night with the Columbus Crew, a new Westerville Education Foundation (WEF) initiative, will take place on Sunday, October 7 at 4:00 p.m. The Crew will be playing Sporting Kansas City.

Tickets to the upper sideline cost $20 each, which is a $7 per-ticket savings over game-day pricing. $10 of every ticket sold will benefit the Westerville City Schools through student scholarships and teacher grants. The goal is to sell 1,000 tickets as a community. If that happens, Crew players and Crew Cat will make a special visit to a Westerville school or community event. Order forms can be downloaded at www.thecrew.com/westervillenight and returned to teachers along with payment (cash or check) before Wednesday, September 26.

"This Community Night Fundraiser is a chance to raise significant funds for our organization," said Terra Boroff, immediate past president of the WEF. "Revenues will allow us to continue awarding grants to teachers and staff members in support of innovative educational programs that enrich learning experiences and broaden the minds of our students."

The WEF was founded in 1993 for the sole purpose of enhancing the education of Westerville students by promoting educational initiatives undertaken by employees in the district. Tax-deductible contributions received fund grants to teachers to enable them to implement their initiatives in the classroom. Grants are also available to other district employees to support innovative activities or programming.
