The theme for Uptown Westerville’s final Fourth Friday event for 2012 on September 28 is “School Daze,” and personnel in the Westerville City School District have been gearing up to host booths that promote academic achievement for all students. Subjects to be covered are Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science/Technology, Social Studies, Visual/Performing Arts, Health/Wellness, World Languages, and Extracurricular Activities. Community members are cordially invited to visit the fun and interactive displays, which will be located in the parking lot behind Morgan’s Treasure off of West Main St. from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Fourth Friday events are sponsored by the Westerville Visitors and Convention Bureau (WVCB), from April through September. They feature extended shopping hours for participating Uptown businesses, entertainment, music, exhibits, a variety of vendors, children’s activities and food in what may best be described as a “block party” atmosphere. Approximately 2,000 to 4,000 people attend this gathering each month. School Daze is described by the WVCB as “a glimpse at the future” where people can “learn about the achievements of Westerville youth and how the young people of this community are working toward tomorrow.”
