The Westerville Education Association honored educators at its annual Spring Reception on Wednesday, recognizing the 2022-23 Educators of the Year and celebrating the 10 teachers retiring this spring.
WEA President Rhonda Gilpin, who is retiring in May, presided over the event and Superintendent Dr. John Kellogg and Board of Education President Tracy Davidson addressed those in attendance.
Frances Canal Benjamin, Nancy Hill, Amy Taylor and Ann Tymoski-Ward received the WEA’s Friends of Education Award.
The retiring educators honored include: Gilpin, Pam Charleston, Lisa Dapoz, Linda Mapes, Linda Nolan, Julia Pierron, Christina Roslovic, Amy Roush, Sarah Shaffer and Kari Tucker.
Gilpin presented the President’s Award posthumously to Curt Jackowski. His wife, Val, received it in his honor.
