It is Energy Fair season for fifth graders in Westerville.  Every elementary school is participating in a day of science discovery and learning.  Fifth grade students are learning about light, sound forces and motion.  More than 350 pupils from all three high schools and middle schools in the Westerville City School District have been trained to be part of an Energy Leadership Team.  These teams facilitate hands-on activities for fifth grade students so they can deepen their understanding about the science and conservation of energy.  The City of Westerville Electric Division has sponsored school events for fifth graders through the award-winning Westerville Energy Education Partnership since 2000.

The Ohio Energy Project (OEP) will recognize Westerville schools on May 8 at the Youth Energy Celebration.  OEP recognizes teachers and students participating in energy programs throughout the school year.
