Kindergarten and first grade students at Whittier Elementary School presented a musical about gross things, titled Squirm!, on Tuesday, March 13. Performances took place for students during the day and for families that evening. The show was an upbeat exploration of creatures that make people squirm, including musical numbers about worms, frogs, spiders, snakes, and ladybugs.
In preparation for the concert, the youngsters learned fun facts about each creature and worked with the art teacher Liz Bash to create animal masks as part of their costume. Music teacher Evan McIntyre directed the pupils.
