After a 30-year academic career, Whittier Elementary Principal Kim Woosley has retired. Her sendoff in the school auditorium on January 31 demonstrated that she will be missed. Songs were sung, poems and letters were read, a video was played, and Woosley was presented with a framed picture memento from the staff. Some of the pupils read essays about the places they thought Ms. Woosley might visit after she left, which included the zoo, the swimming pool, and “the retirement home.”
Cheryl Relford is the new principal at Whittier. She joins Westerville City Schools from Arlington Public Schools in Arlington, Virginia, where she spent the last 13 years as a kindergarten teacher, elementary assistant principal, and elementary principal.
