Students at Pointview Elementary have spent much of the first few days of school learning about ways to demonstrate Pointview P.R.I.D.E. through their behavior at school.  In areas such as the classroom, the hallway, the cafeteria, the bathroom, the bus, and the playground, students have learned how to be:

  • Prepared
  • Respectful
  • Independent
  • Determined, and
  • Engaged as learners

On Friday, August 15, all students in grade 1-5 attended a school-wide assembly to focus on those behaviors that demonstrate P.R.I.D.E. on the playground and in the cafeteria.  Pupils had an opportunity to collaborate with their peers to identify behaviors that were safe, responsible, and respectful.  This assembly came on the heels of grade level meetings with Principal Sherry Birchem to discuss those same ideas.  Students also learned about P.R.I.D.E. awards, which they can earn when a staff member sees them doing the right thing in and around the building.
