On Tuesday, November 26, at McVay Elementary School, students in the classrooms of Julie McGuff and Kathy Gordon participated in a Mini Science Fair. The children rotated through six science stations that taught concepts in the Ohio Standards and the Extended Content Standards. Each station featured hands-on experiments or experiences pertaining to weight and measurement, taste, magnets, predicting heart rate, plants parts and water density and object buoyancy. The stations were run by educators Julie McGuff, Kathy Gordon, Tiffany Goodrich (from Ohio Dominican University), Deb Bergmann, Joy Dietz and Joan Klemeck. “The active, hands-on learning experiences made the afternoon before Thanksgiving break pass quickly,” said Gordon.
