McVay Honors Veterans on November 9

At McVay Elementary School’s annual Veteran's Day Assembly held Friday, November 9, 48 veterans in attendance were honored. The event opened with cake and punch provided by fourth grade teacher Greg Mitchell, and followed with a musical tribute from the children and staff conducted by music instructor Kim Spencer. Colors were presented by Reynoldsburg VFW Post 9473, who were introduced by Instructional Coach Geriann Patterson. With approximately 500 flags waving, fifth grade teacher Lindsey Clouston and third grade teacher Scottie Smith closed the ceremony by playing Taps for the guests.
