McVay students aren’t quite sure what to make of Principal Amy Miller’s “new look.”

Because students at McVay Elementary School raised more than $9,000 during the annual Walk-a-Thon, Principal Amy Miller made good on a promise to dye her hair green. On October 10, before an astonished assembly, she not only had her hair dyed, but also opted for the “spiked” look. Top fundraisers got to take turns with the spray can. Money raised will be used for playground and indoor recess equipment, field trips and technology. When all was said and done, Miller commented, “It’s not easy being green.”
