Swashbuckling Annehurst Elementary School Principal Earl Rahm was forced to walk the “plank” on Friday, September 2, after the little scallywags at his school met his pirate-themed summer challenge of reading 150,000 pages. In order to encourage literacy during the break, teachers were available for check-in dates in June and July and provided a cool treat for those who participated. After the results were tallied and it was determined that the pupils had met their goal, everyone gathered at the Annehurst Pool to watch Mr. Rahm take the early-morning plunge. Rahm commented, “Aargh!”
