When new elementary school attendance boundaries take effect at the start of the 2022-23 school year, all current elementary students who were “overflowed” or administratively-placed to a different school, with few exceptions, will return to their assigned home school as determined by their residential address.
“Due to the opening of Minerva France Elementary at the start of next school year, we’ll have enough space at every elementary building to return all elementary students to their assigned school of attendance as determined by their home address,” Superintendent Dr. John R. Kellogg said.
Families may check their assigned home school as determined by residential address through the interactive map on the district’s website.
Students who have been assigned to a different school for special education services will attend the school at which they have been placed. Current sibling accompaniment arrangements may also continue; families should reach out to their special education coordinator with any questions.
The application period for intra-district open enrollment is currently underway. Interested families must complete and submit an Intra-district Open Enrollment Application, which is available at each school building; at the Early Learning Center (936 Eastwind Drive); and on the intra-district open enrollment web page.
Application forms for elementary school students must be completed by parents or guardians and submitted on or before May 1, while application forms for middle and high school students must be completed and submitted on or before March 15. Transportation for students attending a different school through the open enrollment option is the responsibility of the parents/guardians who are requesting the transfer.
