Girls on the Run® at Fouse Elementary School are hard to miss.  Wearing bright pink T-shirts, the group gathers after school each Tuesday and Thursday to participate in activities that nurture friendship, positive self-image and healthful living.  They also run around their school several times, as they are in training to participate in a 5K county-wide event that will take place on May 11 at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus.  Further information about that event can be found at www.girlsontherunfranklincounty.org/5k/.    The group at Fouse was started by parent Amy Deibel.  Other coaches include parents Rene Smith, Missy Callow, Erica Wares and teachers Heather Scheurer and Heather Griffith.

Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.  Its mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
