Westerville City Schools is receiving national accolades for its most recent Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR), a document that provides an overview of the district’s finances in a user-friendly approach for the community and other interested parties.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given the district an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for its PAFR for the 2019-20 fiscal year. The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports.

The PAFR is prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and any community members interested in a more in-depth look at the district’s finances can use the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for this purpose. Both the FY20 PAFR and FY20 CAFR are available on the district’s website through the Treasurer/Fiscal Services webpage.

Unlike the CAFR, school districts and other governmental entities are not required to publish a PAFR.
