Alcott Elementary students recently had the opportunity to share in a cultural experience with West African drummers and dancers. The West family visited Kristen Wright’s music classes on March 20, working closely with fifth graders in the morning during a drumming workshop. The entire community took part in a dancing and drumming assembly in the afternoon. Cultural ideas covered during the West’s visit included some history of drumming and some standard drumming techniques.
