Students and staff at Alcott Elementary School recently celebrated Veteran’s Day to recognize those people who have devoted themselves to providing the freedoms that our country enjoys.  Sergeant Shane Fry and Officer Darren Hutchinson from the Genoa Township Police Department joined the children and recounted their experiences as veterans.  Paul McNeal, Physical Education teacher at Alcott, along with members of the Alcott Safety Patrol, demonstrated the appropriate way to fold an American flag and spoke about respecting the flag.  Taps were played by Westerville Central High School student MacKenzie Rahwan; and classrooms of students, under the direction of Alcott music teacher, Kristen Wright and her student teacher, Lauren Blumberg, sang patriotic songs.
