Dr. Erin Nealon, who graduated from Westerville Central High School in 2008, was inducted as the 10th member of the high school’s Alumni Hall of Fame at a special ceremony Friday.

While at WCHS, Dr. Nealon participated in soccer and track and was a scholar-athlete in both sports. She was a member of the National Honors Society, Spanish Club, Renaissance Club, Principal's Advisory Club and Key Club. She was a valedictorian and was the Student of the Year in Algebra II and III. She received outstanding achievements in multiple subject areas and earned awards as an outstanding AP Biology and Spanish student.

Her path to becoming a doctor started at John Carroll University, followed by Wright State University. She is a board-certified pediatrician and currently works at Nationwide Children’s Hospital under a cardiology fellowship.

During college and throughout her career, Dr. Nealon has been heavily involved with service work. She volunteered for the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial and participated in the Honduras Medical Immersion. She has been part of the Global Health Initiative and participated in the New Orleans Service Learning Trip and the Swaziland Medical Mission Trip.

Dr. Nealon as well as her family and district leaders were on hand for the celebration.

WCHS’ Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee selected Nealon from a pool of applicants who graduated at least 10 years ago, have demonstrated success in their career, and have made significant contributions to their community. Superintendent Dr. John Kellogg meets with the Student Advisory throughout the school year.
