Westerville high school theatre programs nominated for CAPA Marquee awards

The theatre programs at all three Westerville high schools have all received nominations for the 2022 CAPA Marquee High School Musical Theatre Awards.

The nominees include:

  • William Baumann, Westerville North High School

    • Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Chef Louis in “Disney’s The Little Mermaid”

  • Milo Eckhardt, Westerville Central High School

    • Outstanding Student Designer, Puppet Design for “Shrek The Musical”

  • Bella Price, Westerville South High School

    • Best Actress in a Leading Role, Alice Murphy in “Bright Star”

  • Ben Wright, Westerville Central High School

    • Best Actor in a Leading Role, Shrek in “Shrek The Musical”

  • Westerville South High School

    • Outstanding Ensemble, “Bright Star”

    • Best Musical Production, “Bright Star”

The CAPA Marquee Awards are designed to celebrate, support, and advocate for high school musical theatre education throughout the region. Winners will be announced at a student showcase event on May 10 at the Ohio Theatre. Modeled after the Tony® Awards, the CAPA Marquee Awards showcase will include live performances from the nominees as well as opening and closing numbers that incorporate nominated students from all participating high schools.

Students selected as Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Actress in a Leading Role will be designated as Jimmy® Award nominees and will receive a CAPA-sponsored trip to attend “Jimmy’s Week” in New York City, a training intensive with theatre professionals and industry experts and will compete on the national level for the 2022 Jimmy Awards® for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress.
