Rotary Club of Westerville March 2022 Student of the Month

The Rotary Club of Westerville recognized its March 2022 Student of the Month during a March 3 meeting. Throughout the school year, from October through May, the Club honors four students from local high schools each month. Working with the school principals and counselors, one student each month is chosen from Westerville Central, Westerville North, Westerville South and St. Francis DeSales high schools. The students, their parents, and the school administrators are introduced and honored at a Rotary Club luncheon each month. 

The March 2022 honorees include St. Francis DeSales senior Andres Arbona, who did not have bio information available.

March 2022 Honoree Profiles

Westerville Central: Jack Oldenburgh’s favorite subjects are honors anatomy and physiology, AP U.S. Government, AP Chemistry and precalculus. The junior is a member of Mock Trial, culinary club, Key Club and the varsity swimming team. He is a scholar athlete and was recognized in the 4.0 and Above Honor Roll. He is interested in studying health science, education and biological sciences at The Ohio State University, the University of Cincinnati or the University of Toledo. “I enjoy helping peers/friends in any way I can, whether that be education or something outside of school. It is extremely rewarding knowing that I made an impact on someone’s life.”

Westerville North: Bonnie Wu’s favorite subjects are chemistry and biology. The senior serves as president of the Interact Club and is a member of the In the Know team, Astronomy Club, National Honor Society, Environmental Club and YPCO (youth orchestra). She also volunteers for the Westerville Public Library. Among her honors and recognitions: AP Scholar with Distinction, OMEA solo and ensemble I for solo in class A, honor roll, academic letter, varsity letter in Diving and scholar athlete. She is interested in studying biochemistry or a related subject at The Ohio State University. “Thank you for recognizing me and all the effort I’ve put into my community!”

Westerville South: Elise Bennett’s favorite subjects are history and business management. The senior serves as a captain of the Cross Country team, a captain for Track and Field team, vice president of the Key Club and secretary of the National Honor Society. She is a scholar athlete and received four varsity letters for Cross Country and three for Track and Field. She plans to study business at Ohio University. “I am a full International Baccalaureate student and I’m grateful to be able to attend South where the program is offered.”
