Westerville City School students headed for international education trips with Westerville Central High School physical science and biology teacher Becky Rollo prepared for their upcoming visits with snorkeling lessons from Captain Rick's Diving Adventures last weekend.

Some students are headed to Belize during spring break to explore diverse ecosystems and wildlife and snorkel at Ambergris Caye, Belize’s largest island. Other students will travel to the Dominican Republic in June to learn about marine conservation by working with a marine biologist.

The lesson helped students feel more comfortable before snorkeling in the ocean. The students range in ages and schools as there were trip mergers from last year's canceled trips. There are several trips being led over spring and summer 2022, which are the first international trips being led by district teachers since the summer of 2019.
