More than 50 Westerville graduates signed letters of intent this spring to play athletics in college 

More than 50 members of the Class of 2021 signed letters of intent for a collegiate sport this spring. They include:

WESTERVILLE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

• Corbin Caplan, baseball at Heidelberg University 

• Lauryn Chapman, cross-country and track at Mount Union 

• Quincy Clark, basketball at Lipscomb University in Nashville

• Tasos Cook, basketball at Stetson University

• Rollie Crawford, soccer at North Central College 

• Josie Curran, volleyball at Limestone University 

• MJ Davis, basketball at Otterbein University

• Nina Domanik, lacrosse at  Otterbein University

• Haden Fulkerson, cross-country and track at Emory University 

• Quinn Gallagher, lacrosse at Otterbein University

• Ava Hampton, volleyball at Wittenberg University 

• Ashley Hockstok, cross-country and track at Ohio Northern University

• Moriah Johnson, track at Ball State University

• Logan Moore, lacrosse at Stevenson University in Maryland 

• Joey Ohl, baseball at Alma College 

• Evan Radecki, cross-country and track at Otterbein University

• Jake Schorling, lacrosse at Baldwin Wallace College

• Tate Sterling, wrestling at Muskingum College 

• Luke Swaney, football at Ashland University 

• Zoei Tee, golf at Ohio Northern University 

WESTERVILLE NORTH HIGH SCHOOL

• Brennan Albertini, football at Morehead State University

Albertini, who will study finance at Morehead State, has received a host of awards and recognitions during his athletic career at WNHS, including Defensive Player of the Year for football in the OCC Capital Division, Third Team All-State, First Team All-Conference and First Team All-District. He was an All-State Academic for wrestling, First Team OCC and a state qualifier in 2020. He earned a varsity letter in three sports.

• Sylvester Bockarie, football at Tiffin University

Bockarie, who plans to study business marketing at Tiffin, was First Team OCC in the Capital conference for football, has been awarded scholar athlete twice and earned varsity letters for football and wrestling. He was also a member of the Warrior Athletic Leadership Team.

• Jordan Bossman, soccer at Anderson University in Indiana

Bossman received the Most Improved Player award in 2019. Last year, he received the Most Valuable Player award and was named to OCC First Team All-League and OCC Second Team All-District.   

• Cameron Coughlin, soccer at Capital University

Coughlin, who will study exercise science at Capital, received the Most Valuable Player award as a freshman and the Twelfth Man Award as a sophomore. He received his varsity letter in soccer. 

• Coby Darlington, football at Capital University

Darlington, who plans to study business management at Capital, received the All-OCC Capital Conference Scholar Athlete award and made the honor roll all four years. 

• Morgan Davis, dance at Miami University 

Davis, who plans to study business and marketing at Miami, participated in sideline cheer for football and basketball as well as competitive cheer and the new pom dance team in its inaugural year.

• Xavier Dockery, lacrosse at Lourdes University

Dockery, who plans to study business at Lourdes, competed in lacrosse for three years at WNHS after playing baseball his freshman year. He also was a member of North's football program for four seasons, earning two varsity letters. 

• Logan Dowling, soccer at Finlandia University

Dowling, who plans to study sports management at Finlandia, was awarded MVP for two years and was named First Team All-OCC and All-District Second Team. He also competed in volleyball for three years and earned an Honorable Mention in libero position. He lettered in both sports.

• Ian Evans, lacrosse at Otterbein University

Evans, who plans to pursue the Master of Science Athletic Training program at Otterbein, served as varsity lacrosse captain for three years. He has received several honors, including OCC All-Conference and All-Region Honorable Mention.

• Kobe Hunter, baseball at Hiram College

Hunter, who plans to study environmental science at Hiram, lettered in golf and baseball. He earned OCC Honorable Mention and OCC scholar athlete his senior year as well as scholar athlete all four years. 

• Emily Jones, softball at Wittenberg University

Jones, who will study special education at Wittenberg with plans of becoming a school intervention specialist, was named Offensive Player of the Year, a scholar athlete and All-OCC Special Mention. Jones, who served as a student mentor, lettered in the sport.  

• TJ Lomax, football at West Virginia State

Lomax, who plans to study criminal justice on a pre-law track, was named First Team All-OCC Capital Conference and received a Special Mention All-Central District Division 1. He has been recognized as a scholar athlete for four years and received the “For the Love of The Game Award.” He is a member of the Westerville Athletics Leadership Team.

• Leiris Manzi, football at West Hills College in Coalinga, Calif.

Manzi, who plans to study sports management at West Hills, earned a varsity letter in football.

• Emily McGeorge, volleyball at Adrian College in Michigan

McGeorge, who will study fashion merchandising, marketing and entrepreneurship at Adrian, suffered from a back injury taking her out of her senior session for high school. She recently wrapped up a successful club season playing for the Buckeye Volleyball Club where she has played for the past seven years. She hopes to open her own boutique in Westerville and support the community she loves.

• Aubrey McMahon, tennis at Otterbein University

McMahon, who plans to pursue the Master of Science Athletic Training program at Otterbein, lettered in tennis and lacrosse for all four years. She won the MVP award, Coach's Award and led both teams as a captain. She was also a scholar athlete, a member of the Warrior Athlete Leadership Team, recipient of the We Are Warriors scholarship and was named Second Team All-OCC as a first singles player in tennis. 

• Ty O’Hearn, baseball at Bryant and Stratton College

O’Hearn made WNHS’ varsity baseball team as a freshman and served as a pitcher his sophomore year. 

• Reuben Simiyu, football at Wheeling Jesuit University

Simiyu, who plans to study business administration on a pre-physical therapy track at Wheeling, served as a team captain for the football team in 2020. He received numerous awards during his football career at WNHS, including being named First Team All-OCC, Second Team All-District, First Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-State.

• Rachel Snider, lacrosse at Lourdes University

Snider, who plans to study business administration at Lourdes, will play goalie for the Lady Gray Wolves.

• Candice Talmadge, basketball at Heidelberg University

Talmadge, who plans to study criminal justice at Heidelberg, was a scholar athlete for all four years and was among a group of students whose input helped develop the new African-American history and African-American literature classes at WNHS.

• Jack Yancey, golf at Shawnee State University

Yancey, who will study business at Shawnee State, worked with PGA Professional Gerry Hammond during his time at WNHS. He hopes to follow Hammond’s footsteps as a PGA Professional teaching others the game he loves.
