Erin Moehl and Holly Park, Spanish teachers at Westerville Central High School, were among dozens of World Language educators across the country who presented at the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages last week.

The annual conference, which supports World Language educators in 13 states across the midwest, promotes the study of languages across the K-12 and post-secondary education spectrum.

Moehl and Park presented on the difference between honors and regular curriculum and what that looks like in the World Language classroom — a topic they’ve addressed in various settings, including a presentation during Westerville Education Day.  Both teach Spanish 3 and Honors Spanish 3 and collaborate daily.

Moehl and Park said the topic generates a lot of interest among World Language teachers, as many districts across the country offer both levels as a part of their curriculum.

The two teachers said they were proud to represent Westerville City Schools and share their experience and expertise.

“It is a distinguished honor to be chosen to present,” they said.
