Westerville Central High School’s Mock Trial team, “Law and Disorder,” has advanced to the regional competition on Feb. 19 and 20.

Led by teacher Sarah Ross and assisted by volunteer attorney coaches Josh Fravel and Greg Dick, the team participated in its first-ever virtual Mock Trial on Jan. 30.

The Ohio Mock Trial Competition offers students an innovative approach to learn about how the legal system works. While teams prepare to compete against each other, there is no specific script written for each student to say. Rather, during the competition, each participant is guided by the questions asked by student attorneys, and the answers given by student witnesses, based on information given in the initial 2020 Mock Trial case file given to the teams in the fall.

The WCHS Law and Disorder Mock Trial team members are: Tera Berko, Aarzoo Boparai, Sidney Choo, Noah Gibson, Anna Granata, Dominic Granata, Rosalie Heath, Yassmine Kassab, Saharla Loyan, Anthony Malek and Ethan Moore.
