Usually when a “cheetah” is applauded in a high school gymnasium, it’s the nickname of a school team. Not so at Westerville Central High School. On Monday morning, March 7, representatives from the Columbus Zoo brought a variety of animals to discuss with Biology and AP Environmental Science students. Information was shared about each animal’s habits and habitat during a presentation that focused on the importance of conservation. Guests of honor included a cheetah, sloth, toucan, alligator and marmoset. The special event was organized by Science teacher Anthony Forrest.
