On Tuesday, February 9, in a very tight and competitive match, Westerville Central High School student Zach Gonzalez bowled a 300 game.  The conditions were perfect and the Columbus Square Bowling Palace was packed.  This was the last match of the year for Central’s senior bowlers, and even though Gonzalez is only a 9th grade student, he felt the pressure to make this a very memorable day for those bowlers who have given so much to the program.  Every frame was a tough one and every time he toed the line, he stared down the pins with grit and determination.  By the last few frames, bowlers from all ends of the alley stopped what they were doing to come and watch what many consider to be similar to pitching a perfect game in baseball.  Every strike drew more attention and applause, with cheers of “you can do it!” by all in attendance.  Gonzales will forever be known in Westerville Bowling circles as “Mr. 300.”
