Some 300 students traveled to each playoff game in support of the Warhawk football team.
Just a few weeks ago, the Westerville Central High School Warhawk football team was one of only eight teams left in the state of Ohio at the Division I level. After a fantastic regular 9-1 season, where many records were broken both as a team and individually by players, the Warhawks played host to Solon high school and made quick work of the team up North. Next, in a repeat of last year’s second round action, the Warhawks battled Austintown Fitch and this time the Hawks took care of business and sent them home from Canton with a loss. In the third playoff game on their march to a possible state title, the Warhawks battled to the end, but came up short against a very talented team from St Edward’s high school from Cleveland in a game played in Mansfield.
Principal Todd Spinner reflected, “Overall, it was a very successful and exciting 11-2 season!”
