Young Budd Post 171 Bestows Americanism & Government Test Awards

The American Legion Young Budd Post 171 of Westerville, Ohio recently conducted the 2013-2014 Americanism and Government Test in each of the Westerville high schools for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.  The test consisted of 50 questions covering Federal, State, County, and Local government; the United States flag; the U.S. constitution; and the Declaration of Independence.  65,000 students throughout the State of Ohio and at more than 500 schools took part in this testing program. 

The American Legion Ohio’s District 12 (Franklin County) honored Westerville students Allison Ubry, a junior at Westerville Central, and Yensong (Ted) Li, a sophomore at Westerville North, for achieving top scores in the District.  Each received special recognition and a monetary award. 

In addition, Post 171 extended special recognition and monetary awards to Jeremy Paul, a junior at Westerville North, and Allison Ubry, a junior at Westerville Central, for earning the highest overall score (tie) of all the students tested in the Westerville School District.  Runner-ups Christopher Scheren (12th grade - Westerville North); Allison Fugger and Avery Pierson (12th grade - Westerville North/tie); and Cheyanne Cole (10th grade - Westerville North) were also honored on March 5 at the Westerville American Legion.
