The paparazzi was out in full force on Tuesday morning, December 10, for the gala, red carpet premiere of “Reflections through the Years,” a celebration of 10 short films featuring some of Westerville’s finest senior citizens.  Thanks to generous grants from the Westerville Education Challenge, the Westerville Central High School Academic Boosters, and the Bette Marschall Fund, Westerville Central Film and Literature students got the opportunity to become digital storytellers, under the direction of educator Susannah Lee and Westerville Senior Center director Jeffrey Althouse.  The pupils documented personal stories and words of wisdom from 11 senior citizens in the Westerville-area community.  Westerville Central students and staff expressed gratitude to partners and sponsors, including many local businesses, for their generous contributions.  After the premiere, the “stars” and their families enjoyed a reception held in their honor.  Each received a copy of their film along with a goodie bag.

Student Thomas Cochran shared, “I learned about the Great Depression first-hand, what it was like.  It made history come alive for me.”
