The Westerville Wild Warbots robotics team was part of the first place alliance at the 4th annual Connect a Million Minds Robotics Invitational Tournament held June 22 at Dublin Coffman High School.  The Wild Warbots partnered with Ranger Robotics from Spencerport, New York, and Innovators Robotics from Tipp City, Ohio, to claim the championship.  Organized by the Central Ohio Robotics Initiative and sponsored by Time Warner Cable, the competition featured 32 teams from across Ohio as well as New York, Indiana, and West Virginia.

The Westerville Wild Warbots team is a member of the FIRST Robotics League (FRL) and includes members from the three Westerville high schools.  The FRL was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. The 2013 FRL competition required students to build and program a robot that could maneuver a playing field, shoot Frisbees into targets, and climb a metal pyramid.
