Dear Westerville Central Families:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of an incident that disrupted our school day today. One of our science teachers was conducting a demonstration that involved the use of magnesium. The experiment triggered our fire alarm system and, as a result, we evacuated the building. Fire officials arrived on site and, after approximately 10 to 12 minutes out of the building, gave us the “all clear” to return to class.

The safety and security of your children is one of our top priorities. I’d like to commend our students for their cooperation and ability to follow directions today during this evacuation. As always, please feel free to contact me at 797-6800 should you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Todd Spinner
Principal
