Blendon Middle School students Ava Arnold, Escher Koh and Kai Irwin joined middle and high school oboe and bassoon players in the area for Ohio State University’s Double Reed Workshop on Feb. 25 at the new Timashev Family Music Building.

Joined by Blendon band director Sarah McPeak, the students worked with Ohio State faculty — including Dr. Abby Yeakle Held, an associate professor of Oboe — and students. They learned about the art of reed making, rehearsed and performed in a conducted large ensemble comprised entirely of double reed instruments.
