Blendon band and choir earn top honors at Kings Island’s Festival of Music showcase

Blendon Middle School band and choir students received a Superior rating and earned eight trophies, including a Grand Champion trophy for the school’s choir, at King Island’s Festival of Music showcase on April 30.

In addition, eighth-graders Alicia Keenan, Phil Adu-Acheampong, Brody French and Darrin McKinney received Outstanding Soloist awards as well as eighth-grader Isaac Cofie, for receiving the Outstanding Student Accompanist award.

Following the competition, students, band director Sarah McPeak and choir director Joshua Ice, along with the adult chaperones, spent the rest of the day at the park.
