Blendon Middle School’s Drama Club is returning to the stage with their upcoming production of Matilda The Musical JR. based on Roald Dahl’s beloved book, “Matilda.”
The show runs 7 p.m. March 4-5 and 2 p.m. March 6 at Westerville South High School’s auditorium. Tickets are $5. General admission will be sold at the door.
Adapted from the award-winning full-length musical, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
Much like Matilda and her revolting classmates, more than 60 members of Blendon’s Drama Club students have banded together to rise up against obstacles bigger than the Trunchbull and her Chokey to find the joy in being kids again.
Matilda The Musical JR. serves as the club’s fifth production and third musical under its current directorial team.
