Blendon eighth-grader is state champion in 110 meter hurdles

William Baumann, an eighth-grader at Blendon Middle School, is the school’s first Track & Field state champion in the 110-meter hurdles for the Ohio High School Athletic Association state track and field meet for seventh- and eighth-graders.

Baumann won his race after earning a personal best winning time of 15.81 seconds during the state meet on May 15 at Hilliard Darby High School. Baumann also placed third in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 25.95 seconds, breaking his own school record.

 He ended the regular season with a 46-0 record in the 110-meter hurdles and a 44-2 record in the 200-meter hurdles.

Baumann will attend Westerville North High School this fall.
