Two hundred ninety two Blendon Middle School students earned rewards at the 3rd Quarter Renaissance Celebration for having met stringent goals in academic achievement, community service, attendance, attitude, and school spirit.  They were treated to a day of fun at Alum Creek North Park on May 7, courtesy of the Blendon PTO.   Games2U provided the entertainment and Kona Ice made for cool treats.  As a special reward, Skyline Chili donated free Chili Cheese Coneys for all students and staff.

Each quarter, qualifying students are treated to a day of fun and recognition.  Each receives a certificate for their achievements, and attends an assembly where prizes donated by local businesses and PTO parent Meg Gutches Miller are raffled.  Included among the gifts are Renaissance T-shirts from Blendon Principal Kendall Harris; gift cards from City BBQ, Cucinova, Dairy Queen, Donato’s Pizza, Frisch’s Big Boy, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Marcus Theatres, Old Skool Skateboards, Scrambler’s Marie, Westerville Recreation Center, and former Blendon parent Carla Tedeschi.  The Grand Prize was a Kindle Fire Tablet.  Following the awards presentation, students spent the rest of the day at the park, having a great time.  Blendon has been hosting Renaissance celebrations for nine years.
