Blendon Media Specialist Karen Yingling coordinated Pajama Pants Day and after students surpassed their reading goal, Principal Kendall Harris and Vice Principal Fred Tombaugh joined in the celebration by wearing zebra pajamas, which were generously provided by teacher Sandie Trask-Tyler.

In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America Day, students at Blendon Middle School earned the right to wear school-appropriate pajamas to class on Friday, February 28, after surpassing their reading goal of 10,000 Accelerated Reader (AR) points.  When Media Specialist Karen Yingling presented the challenge back on February 11, the school had earned 3,833 points.  Pupils were encouraged to read short nonfiction AR books after they finished their homework in study hall.  Once the books were read, they took a test on the computer to measure comprehension and earn points.  By the February 28 deadline, Blendon students had earned more than 18,000 points.
