A total of 225 Blendon Middle School students qualified for the first quarter Renaissance Awards Celebration – the largest group ever.  To earn the honor, pupils had to meet goals in academic achievement, community service, attendance, attitude, and school spirit.

Starting with an awards program in the gymnasium, recipients received both a certificate for their accomplishment, and a tangible reward donated by various local businesses.  This quarter, each student received coupons from Dave & Buster, and First Watch at Polaris.

The celebration continued with a variety of raffle prizes, also donated by local businesses and PTO parents, including Spiritwear from the Blendon PTO, gift cards from Anthony Thomas, Cold Stone Creamery, Columbus Square Bowling Palace, Dairy Queen, Donato’s Pizza, Fazoli’s Italian Restaurant, Graeter’s Ice Cream, Little Caesar’s, Marie Scrambler’s, Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, Old Skool Skateboards, On The Mat Martial Arts, and the Chiller Ice Rinks.  The Grand Prize was a $50 gift card from Star Lanes.

Following the awards presentation, students spent the rest of the day enjoying the amenities at Gahanna Lanes Bowling, courtesy of the Blendon PTO.

This is the fourth school year that Blendon has conducted the Renaissance Awards Program, which would not be possible without the continued support of local and national businesses, parents, and the Blendon PTO.
