On August 29, Blendon Middle School celebrated outstanding students at the Fourth Quarter Renaissance Awards Recognition Program.  Qualifying pupils were recognized at a ceremony in the school gym, where each received certificates and coupons from Dave & Buster, and First Watch (Polaris location.)

Local businesses and PTO parents also donated variety of wonderful raffle prizes, which were received by a number of lucky winners.  They included gift cards from the Blendon PTO, Carla Tedeschi, Cold Stone Creamery, Columbus Square Bowling Palace, Dairy Queen, Donato’s Pizza, Fazoli’s Italian Restaurant, Gahanna Lanes, Little Caesar’s, Marcus Theatres, Marie Scrambler’s, On The Mat Martial Arts, Skyline Chili (Polaris), The Chiller Ice Rinks, and Westerville South High School Athletic Department – just to name a few.  The Grand Prize was a Polaroid Music and Video player with carrying case.  Following the awards presentation, students spent the rest of the day “chilling” at the Jaycee Pool, compliments of the Blendon PTO.

A total of 90 Blendon students qualified for participation in the celebration.  To qualify, students had to meet goals in academic achievement, community service, attendance, attitude, and school spirit.  This school year marks 4th year of success for the Blendon Renaissance Awards Program, which would not be possible without the continued support of local and national businesses, Blendon parents, and the Blendon PTO.
